FOOD SHORTAGE
by Sujan Kumar Saraswati on Apr 18, 2008 11:25 AM

It is a pity that we give more priority to issues like Olympic Torch relay, OBC quota in premier institutions, Rajiv Gandhi being considered Prime Ministrial candidate etc. when issues closer to most of us remain un-attended. Issues like food shortage, non availability of drinking water, non availability of primary education and our steeply rising population should have been given much more attention. Whereas, Govt. of India is reserving seats in the institutes of higher education, Govt. of W. Bengal is opening Madarsas. I do not know, where are we heading to. When are we going to get people like Dr. Swaminathan, Sam Pitroda etc. who made visible difference for the country.
