anyway, aryabhatta's book surya siddhanta is a scientific manual, not a religious book - but then who are the groups of saints who wrote the vedas ? there are some mention of saints like vashishta, agastya, shandilya (who partly contributed) ... what i am saying is that aryabhatta shared that same ethos while writing about astronomy - the scientific spririt of sanatan hinduism

i started with aryabhatta since u spoke of rahu eating sun to cause eclipse - which is pure myth and not even mentioned in the vedas (some of the later chronological puranas are myths, no doubt) - but the truth of the vedas and upanishads cannot be denied or refuted
