There is no ekalavyas caracter in the whole episode of jaya kadha (mahabharata) It is an added story. Evil always exists at all times. but the ultimate victory is of truth. the supreme truth is GOD. There were no caste systems based on birth.(as per karma sidhanta) What ever so work is your profession.Do it sincerely. Caste systems became strict only after islamic invasions.
