Quotas are justifiable
by Harimau Iyer on Apr 13, 2008 09:29 AM

In May 2007, the magazine "Science" published a research study that showed that intelligent and analytical ability are inherited.

In India, all castes are endogamous. Thus, intelligence got concentrated among a few groups through successive generations.

Some three thousand years ago, there was some sort of IQ test administered to the population at large and they were all divided into various castes. Just like people in the West bred dogs for specific characteristics (but produced mongrel people), India produced persons with specific characteristics but our dogs are mongrels.

The SC/ST/BC/OBC/MBC bunch, having lost out in the IQ tests earlier are justifiably afraid of taking a competitive examination again now to determine their true worth. Because, after 3000 years of marriage with persons of low IQs, they have become incapable of analytical reasoning. This is why they do not want to ever take a competitive examination.

My suggestion is that the SC/ST/BC/OBC/MBC persons be issued degree certificates along with their birth certificate and caste certificate so they do not have to clog up any educational institution. They can contentedly laze away their time waiting for a government job.
