i completely second this little said but very important factor.. having been in Goa and working with the mother and Advocate Varma day and night i see how deep and intertwined the issues in this case are.. yes, if the police were paid a lliveable wage, the prospect of extorting money would be less attractive.. Radical reform on many levels is needed in order for there to be "success" in this case... The behaviors have been accepted and the mass of people have felt disempowered and helpless to change the system. Yet throughout this case i have been amazed and inspired every single day by the bravery and inner strength that is growing both in the individuals and the community as a whole to stand in the light of justice. i haven't heard the old adage "i can't clap with one hand" after the first week we started digging for truth and justice. We are not alone and neither are you.. :-)
