OBCs were kings before the british came -were they "OPPRESSED"? They oppress SCs/STs.
Most of the open competition seats are actually taken by OBCs, BCs, MBCs - they have enough merit and capability.
"5000 years of Oppression" clearly does not apply to OBCs - since they were privileged class before the british came.
In any case the world has seen more progress in the last 75 years than the 2000 years before that.
OBCs constitute most of our parliament, legislative assemblies, ministers .. etc. They are extremely powerful.
I do not think that they are really deprived people. Is it right for them to demand and get reservations? They are powerful and will win by placing any demand in India - but that does not make it correct.
