There are 'big' people in many countries vehemently deny the holocaust ever took place. So too those who deny that the outcastes - OBCs, Dalits, STs - those outside the Hindu fold, have never been oppressed deniraded, degraded and denied any opportunity for socio-economic advancement. Affirmative action like the quotas for these people are the only way to leapfrog them into the mainstream after millenia of marginalization and oppression. Originally it was supposed to be for only ten years, but the uncaring criminally neglectful Congress never bothered to fulfill their constitutional duties, and affirmative action became just another name for Hafta.
