Economic development is the key
by Proud Indian on Apr 08, 2008 03:02 PM

My views on this topic:
1) At the end of the day even after all their jehadi aspirations stroked by Pakistan, I belive Kashmiri ppl will realize where their future will be better - India or Pakistan
2) They can either throw their lot in a destablized pakistan which goes from permanent military rule to intermitent democracy. OR They can go with an economic super power that India is going to become in the next decade.
3) Any military analyst will tell you that the next pakistan -India showdown will be won by the side which has the economic might to last it out. Can we afford a 3 month war with Pakistan? I think we can. Can Pakistan afford a 3 month war with us? I dont think so. Let us make ourselves so strong that the Pakistan will know that they cannot win come what may.
4) This is how Ragan defeated Russia at the cold war - he simply made it too costly for Russia to continue. I believe that India has to do the same with Pakistan.
5) India has the high amount of international tourist outflows to places like UK, Switzerland etc. Can you imagine the benifit to Kashmir if half of these outflow of tourists went to J&K and not to foreign nations
