Humanistic approach

Hogenakkal has one shore in Karnataka's side whereas the other shore is in Tamilnadu(officially Dharmapuri district). The infrastructure relating to this project will be built on the TN's side of Hogenakkal. It is where Cauvery enters Tamilnadu. This project will never come in the way of Karnataka. Morover, this project was approved by both Karnataka and Central Government in 1998. TN agreed to Bangalore Water supply project and KN agreed to Hoge drinking water project mutually provided both states use from their allocated share. Hoge project was stopped due to various sanctions imposed on India due to Pokhran nuclear tests. I wonder why KN is opposing now.

Kindly analyse the geography of this area of dispute. It will be practically impossible or too expensive to take the water from Mettur dam than Hogenakkal as Mettur is surrounded in the north by Shervaroyan Hills, a meeting point of eastern and a part of western ghats. It is practically too difficult to lay huge pipes thro' these mountains to reach Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts. Morover, the Mettur dam is in lower aprarian region that Hogennakal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri and everyone knows that water flows from higher level to lower level. Can you people deny this?. The right for which TN is fighting is valid.
Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts are highly water starved districts and Hogenakkal can be the only place where water can be pumped in large quantities due to its enormous depth (that too from the alloca
