Tamils outside India
by Julius Augustine on Apr 03, 2008 07:24 AM

Very few in India see me as a South Indian (though my roots are from Kerala, but have been brought up in Gujarat). But now I am in Malaysia and whenever any Tamil taxi driver or sales person sees me he starts rattling off in Tamil. When I say, I don't understand the language they are surprised that how come I am from India and don't know the language. So I tell them "All Tamilians are Indian, but not all Indians are Tamilians" TN is just about 6-8% of India!!
