RE:Banning Tamil TV Channel.... So WHAT
by Pugazhendhi Rangasamy on Apr 02, 2008 06:33 AM

Do you know how the industry works. When you buy tickets the entertainment tax is collected by the local government body. If I'm right In Karnataka they collect more tax for language other than Kannada. So if they stop the screening its Karnataka loosing those extra money. When producers make money form a movie they pay tax to the center and not to TN sate. So please explain how TN would loose money over banning the movies. With TV the ad revenue is generated has no relation to this. The cable providers are going to charge the people even if they are not going to show tamil channels. No one would have the guts to take the cable providers to consumer court to avoid the public lashing by the people there. So how does TN get affected by this?
