The reason why the middle-class do't vote is very simple - the few token sops like Rs 10, promises of a few kilos of rice ets., hardly interests them to vote, but to the overwhelming majority of poor desperate illiterate village idiots, even such token sops are more than enough incentive to go out and vote.
