Cops Say Explosives Used In Malegaon Had A Similar Mix

Mumbai: The crime branch arrested two persons, accused of carrying six live bombs, from outside the Andheri railway station. While one of the accused were picked up on Tuesday, the other was arrested on Wednesday. The police, though, are yet to establish the motive of the nabbed persons and whether or not they have any terror links. Interestingly, most ingredients of the seized bombs were similar to the ones used in the 2006 Malegaon blasts. According to the police, the bombs contained shrapnel, nuts and bolts, ball bearings etc. Sources said they could kill at least half-a-dozen people if kept in a crowded place. The accused were seen roaming with the bombs%u2014each of which weighed half a kilogram%u2014for the last two days. The arrested persons were identified as Rajeev Govind Singh (22) and S Badal Roy (36), both residents of Vakola in Santa Cruz (E). A Std VII dropout, Singh is the son of a vegetable vendor, while Roy is an auto driver. Both were involved in drug peddling.
