Just like the Erstwhile Soviet Union maintained Satellite States in Eastern Europe which could not do anything that was independent of Soviet Foreign Policy, So also the chinese regime see the whole of South East Asia including Burma as their "Eastern Europe". They had Vietnam and Cambodia under their claws. Fortunately Vietnam was able to liberate Cambodia and also break free of china.
