You seem to be half-baked, arguing selectively and leaving the rest. It is Hinduism that debated heavily, and corrections have been happening all through. Can you quote similar ones, in other religions where people accept amendments.
One more thing. If Hinduism is not a religion, be it so. It only proves another point that you do not need religion in this world. Because, there are so many in this world, who believe they are Hindus. Can others accept that they do not need religion.
