I do not know, whether you have understood me or not, but it seems you have not. Soul cannot be fictitious. Soul very much lies in everyone's Heart, and can be heard and realised by putting hand in the left side of the Chest. You may call Heart bits. When a person is about to die, and doctors also know the same, can at that time doctor is able to catch the soul, and store in Jar. This type of experiment had already done in USA long time back, when they laid down the dying body in Glass Jar to trap the Soul, and when a man dies, at that moment there was a crack in the Glass. Further a real Yogi through his mediatation and Yog can take out the Soul from his Body, and that time if you call Doctor to test his body, the Dr. will declare him dead. In fact he is not dead, the Soul again re enter his body through his Yog and meditation strength. Therefore, the whole context is that Soul never dies, it is the body that only die. Although my previous views was only to convey the limitations of Science, and Science in itself is helpless without GOD.
