I can imagine the reactions of people 75 years back when the so called lower castes were fighting for their rights to enter temples. I can imagine that the reactions would have been extreme. How could one man and his followers have fought against an entire system. The courage of periyar and his intellectual strength won that fight. It is sad but true that the people who are loud and proclaim that they are fighting hinduism are actually doing the most damage to hinduism.
