In 1933 Adolf Hitler was elected democratically to the Reichstag by offering special privileges to Germans and removing Jewish rights with disastrous consequences and 52 million people killed in the resulting WWII, the greatest single loss of life in History.
Do not play around with Democracy, it can be even more dangerous than dictatorship if not implemented wisely.
