God is one. Allah is one of his name, meaning the almighty one. God sends his representatives to this earth to teach rebellious souls the codes of religion so that they can be happy in this world and after death go to heavenly planets or to spiritual world.
No, doubt Mohammed is a bonafide representative of God. He gave codes of religion(which we now call muslim religion) according to the mentality of people to whom he was teaching. He did God's service.
Now, this information about Mohammed seems wrong. May be it's just wrong information propagated over generations. Even if it is right there may be some solid reasons for him to do so. Those times and places were different for us to judge. Better to give benefit of doubt, take the lesson meant for us and move forward in life.
A broader attitude will make one's mind peaceful and pave way for liberation else doors to hell are opening in this and next life.
