Samarjit:
Your black and white interpretation of USpolitics is interesting. Japan and Vietnam, were involved in acts of acts of aggression and were first to attack the US. Iraq was the exception and of course is a valid question on US policies.
But the point here, of communism is-
- the belief that state holds a right over individuals
- the beleif that all goods can only be produced by products of national assets (public companies) is redundant principles.
- that all individuals and businesses are anti nationals and can not work for the betterment of people is derogatory to people.
- that US has expanded its econonmy not on value but on aggression and force is a bogus myth.
- that with no alternative proposal in mind of how to sustain economic growth and thus alleviate proverty, how can the nuclear power be accepted as bad choice.
- that almost all communist nations in the world carry the intent of territorial annexation and power.

The difference in US and India is RIGHTS. And it is natural for us to cooperate. If it does not provide moral high to copperate for the reasons you state, what moral high can be found for cooperating with USSR or Russia or any of the major developed nations - (Germany (Nazi history), France (former Colnialists), UK (same) )on the same barometer?

As somebody has said, there is no point hanging on to history, and use it only to learn lessons. Bengal sincerely needs to progress- and that is true. The adage you quote actually mocks.
