LOOK TOWARDS WEST ASIA FOR ENERGY NEEDS
by Mohandas Gandhi on Sep 20, 2007 12:12 PM

It is ironic that America looks to control the West Asia region for the Oil and we do not even consider looking at it.

In most of the Smaller GCC Countries like Kuwait, UAE, Qatar and Oman, the people of South Asia (Indians, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankans and Nepalis) are more than 80% of the population but are treated as second class citizens.

We have been a peacful nation for long and it is time we flexed our muscles and claim our rightful share. We should have a 10 year strategy to boost our defence spending and make our defence industry 100% indegenious.

After this has happened we can easily try to exert our influence over 1 or 2 of this puppet regimes of the US. Maybe, we can takeover 1 or 2 countries and that will take care of the energy security for us !

If US is a friend of India why does not it exert its considerable influence in the middle east to force the governments to be more democratic and make them respect human rights. Here there is no constitution and no law and a local person can even get away with murder and a expatriate (read south asian) has no rights whatsoever.
