Solar energy is in its infancy. The renewable energy can produce at most 20% of global needs by 2050. Now it is 5%. Things will change on a breakthrough invention. Many countries and leading comapanies like Mitsubishi are trying.
For the forseable future, the world has to depend on fossil fuels. Nuclear energy is another option. Even if we do not proceed, others like China are already going full steam. Other countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Bangla Desh are also going ahead.
We will be facing darkness at noon, if we are not practical and do nothing to secure our needs.
Finally, the leftists who oppose these can suggest a way out and why not implement their ideas as they are still in the govt. I will be the first to bow my head to them.
Regarding linking of rivers, it is NATO (no action, talk only). I remember thirty years ago, a big headline in the papers - Dhar/Rao Talks to urgently link Ganga, Kaveri. The talks are still going on, off and on. Both DP Dhar & KL Rao are long gone.
