If the government stands for well being and betterment of the people, it must uphold all good things without supporting any religion. Muslim religion contains a lot of evils like talaq. If the government is going to follow Islamic laws for muslim women (which are one sided), perhaps, there is no mistake in reviving Sati among hindus.
