Eager that the controversy does not push its cadres on the back foot, it has begun to question the BJP for reneging on its Ram temple promise in Ayodhya and will publicise the fact that Sethusamudram project was approved by the Vajpayee regime.
A strong message that Sonia authored the course correction will, party leaders hope, help take the sting out of BJP bid to exploit Hindutva sentiment.
