Majority bashing by pro-minority government
by Vimal Kumar on Sep 29, 2007 05:55 PM

Such an instance can only happen in 'secular' India. The Central government of a country, which has got a majority Hindu population, filing an affidavit stating that one of the most revered Hindu gods does not exist.
Imagine the US or British government filing an affidavit stating that there is no proof for Jesus Christ's virgin birth or resurruction after crucifiction.
The US, British and other Western countries also pride themselves in stating that they are democratic, secular countries. However, never in their history has any government ever come out openly questioning the religious beliefs of the majority community(in their case-Christianity).
