"The government has total respect for all religions, and Hinduism in particular....". This statement of the Govt sounds so hollow that even the Govt may find it difficult to accept. The UPA is only sensitive to the issues pertaining to minorities. Where it concerns the Hindus, they are not.
The ASG has stated that they are going ahead with the dredging in areas excluding the Ram Sethu. This does not sound right. What if the SC bars the dredging of the Ram Sethu at a later date, in which case the project may have to be abandoned? Will it not mean a loss of Tax-payers' money? Or is it the confidence of the UPA that they will only get a favourable judgement from the SC?
