mob attacks
by r s rao on Sep 13, 2007 01:25 PM

recent mob attacks (taking law into their hands) seems to show that the people have lost faith in law and judiciary and believe in instant punishment to the culprit. As we have been noticing in the recent times, even if somebody is arrested for some crime, he comes out on bail immediately. Thereafter,it takes years and by that time the matter is more or less forgotten from people's mind and most of the time he goes scot free.

There is a need to amend the law so that the person is not out immediately. Else, these type of vigilante justice wud start everywhere. One look at Mumbai where if a packet picker is caught in local train, the public beat him pulp.
As such, there is a need to review the complete judicial machinery and system.
