Ram setu actually exists. Recent NASA photos taken from the space also show proof of the same. The dredging of the shallow ocean would cut down on the travel time and would also save a lot of money. Why can't we build an artificial canal in that area and put a toll on the ships using it on a BOT basis. In this way the country would make money. The toll collected would have to be less than the cost of additional fuel spent if the ship had to circumvent and come around. Maybe we can even earmark a part of the money towards building some hindu temples. Let us not stop our progress due to such issues. It is not a tourist destinantion anyway and nobody pays any religious homeage also to it.
