Friends there is proof in Ramayana itself, if you carefully read the discription and guidelines given by Sugreev to his soldaiers while they were sent to search Seeta. He has discribed about a "Trident" A "TAL Vriksha" on as limit for EAST direction which is fixed by Lord Vishnu, this Trident can only be seen from Air craft and it is located in South america in Peru's Mountain. Also When Ram was returning to Ayodhya in PLANE called "PUSHPAK" he has shown so many places to Seeta. and such discription can only be possible if anyone travelled by Air from so called route from coast of Lank to Ayodhya.
