1993 blasts: 4 from Memon family get bail
by Raghavan Kesavan on Sep 08, 2007 07:23 AM

Persons charged for serious offenses of murder , rape , destruction etc should not be granted bail as in most cases , it proves fatal to the persons concerned .No person shall be charged without any prima facie cause. When this is the case , why should those chaged of grave offences be granted bail risking their lives .It will be necessary to protect them till they exhaust all avenues to prove their innocence .They shall not be set at liberty .This should be a general rule applicable to all without exception all over the country. If they ae found quilty , the period spent under custody may e counted towards he jail term if awarded .In cases whre they are proved innocent , they can e relaesed and the period spent in custody is only a measure of protection to them when under cloud that might jeopordise their lives if left unprotected .
