LTTE lost its support in TN when it started eliminating other Tamil groups. If it really worried about the welfare of the people it should have agreed to the Rajiv-Jayavardane deal. But it became hostile to Indian Army which was sent for the sole purpose of saving Tamils. Not only that LTTE joined SL army to attack Indian Army. How is it possible for LTTE to grow without support of local SL Tamils? To add insult to injury it killed Rajiv who was popular and beloved in Tamil Nadu. Now there is very less sympathy for SL Tamils even in Tamil Nadu.
