N-E burning, and the Govt sleeping
by Shridhar Iyer on Sep 09, 2007 10:16 AM

I have also been saying that the situation in N-E is very disturbing. Influx of poor, illegal, and of different religion/belief in huge numbers over many years, has alienated the original and bonafide citizens of this country. The illegal influx also includes Jihadi elements, aided and supported by Pak's ISI, can do lot of harm to the society in N-E, and also in other parts of the country as well. The attack on Ms.Taslima, and the Hyderabad Bomb blast, and Masjid blast in Hyderabad are examples of this. The Govt in Bangladesh (other than the one headed by Mujeebur Rahman's daughter) are anti-nationals and therefore can't expect them to take actions on anti-Indian elements in Bangladesh. Like Pak, they also seem to cling on to power with the help of Jihadi elements/parties, with anti-Indian sentiments.

The GOI had not made any serious attempts to understand the core of the issue, to solve the problem. Instead the Congress and its Communits partners have been very happy receiving them, helping them to settle down, issue them ration cards, and make use of them to get votes in elections, and also to show that they are pro-minorities. Any suggestions from well meaning citizens, like me, in the only interest of the nation, to address to the real issue, is not liked by GOI including the press and they will be happy to project them as communal!. If we allow things to go on like this for some more years, the N-E will lose their originality, identity, and will be a mini B
