RE:RE:NRIs interest or Country's interest?
by Ashutosh Kole on Sep 08, 2007 11:27 AM

Thats exactly my point Mr. mindgod. US will not allow us to have independent foreign policy. All the history has shown this, be it Japan, South Korea, Germany, England...the list goes on. Its a 'chakravhew', you can get into it, but cannot come outside. And FYI, China is going the Thermal (coal) way in their energy needs, and that too because they have unending reserves of coal. Yes agreed that we need growth in nuclear sector to be full fledged. But we need technology from US and raw material from countries like Australia who are already saying that they will not supply fuel until India signs CTBT or NPT. These 'white' countries are the last once we should believe in. India is acting as if Nuclear energy and that too from US help are the last measures for our sustainability and for that we are ready to be slaves of US. Now US inspectors will come and check our facilities? What a dreadful vicious cycle this is. We make one decision which goes anti US and these inspectors will convey (prove) that India is using nuclear technology for weapons development and then we know what happened to Iraq. Offcourse that will not totally happen to India but there will be serious implications. Just blaming he Left for being anti development is very uneducated effort. THINK what will be the consequences. Its becomes a fashion to blame the left (who at least are sticking to what they are saying unlike the BJP). Shortsighted Congress and selfish BJP are not thinking about the long term damage.
