These days wars are no longer won with superior arms alone..There are ample examples:

1. Americans lost in Vietnam
2. Soviets lost in Afganisthan
3. Americans losing in Iraq

Russia was on the verge of losing in Chechnya till the ruthless Putin bobmed the hell out of Chechnya and brought them to their knees.
