Obtuse Hyperbole Clouding The Age of Reason
by Ramesh Nittoor on Sep 02, 2007 01:03 AM

The power problem is beset with distribution bottleneck. First being rampant power theft and highly subsidised rates to chosen few. Next being archaic laws which does not permit rationalisation of ownership to disaggregated institutional holdings including private sector. These are political-legal issues, if resolved shall spur rapid growth rates in power generation, mirroring telecom revolution.

N-deal will definitely improve access to whole gamout of nuclear power generation technlogies available worldwide. If private sector invesments are also permitted, even then, nuclear power can bridge the power gap only in the long run.

Obstuse insinuations like " subjugation ...to imperialist powers." distracts from real issues, confirms that the age of reason has not dawned yet in Indian polity. To clinch the deal we may first indeed need renaissance of kind Voltaire wrote about!
