Hi! First of all, let me correct the author of this write-up! Mr. Kalam was never the "Father of India's nuclear weapons programme". He had been associated with the Integrated Guided Missiles Programme of the country! Incidentally, only three of the 5 missiles sought to be developed under the programme are operational, the remaining two having been shelved! Even Nag, the much-touted annti-tank missile has not performed to the entire satisfaction of the user, i.e. the Indian Army! However, we indians are prone to hypes in practically every field of life and do not take much to go into a hyperbole! coming back to the topic, thorium has all along been there, waiting to be exploited to its potential but other than occasional noise being made, precious little has been done. The lone fast breeder reactor of the country at Kalapakkam,is by and large still in the developmental stage! When will we wake up and WORK to take our rightful place in the international community!
