Dear Gladiator, I am from Kerala. There was no muslim rule in Kerala at any point of time. But the invading force of Tippu Sultan converted a large number of natives in British Malabar at the point of sword. The large population of muslims along the present NH-17 from Kasaragod to Malappuram in Kerala stands testimony to this. I have seen the ruins of many temples destroyed the invading force of Tippu Sultan in British Malabar.
