Well I guess they would vote for him, wouldn't they, considering he opposes hate-crime laws. This means that the racist, white-supremist kul-kulx-klan can beat on any black and get away with it in Louisiana. He is also against abortion, believes non-christians are going to hell, etc, etc., which makes all those conservative christians in these bible belts very satisfied customers. In fact, he has done everything to highlight his christian identity, hoping that in the process, his dark skin will not be noticed by the whites in those backward states. He could saved the trouble and just bleached/peeled his skin like Michael Jackson.
