India?
by Tataghata Mukherjee on Oct 19, 2007 04:00 PM

I doubt that if ever we have developed a full package or application software without which some other software can't function.
We may be coding some lines of code everyday for our companies to which in turn selling it as part of packege. Another thing is that in the S/W field nothing has been done original from india. Can u give me a name a language, an application s/w that is platform independent or operating system or database or network protocol or even a browser? No we can't. Beacuase of this we are habitual of working on language of western contries. We are code coolies working for a few biscuits. The Chinese are now almost developed and testing its own Network Protocol's set and counterpart of Internet. Just try to get in the Chinese web sites u will feel a whole world of difference. Also they have got their own Unicode Character set and trying to develop ASCII equalent CHAR Set. Why are we closing our eyes from reality? We do not create wealth. We have slave menatlity form ages. Do we make anything at all except code a few lines like slaves for the West? Do we have a processor, a monitor, a mouse or a keyboard atleast that we have a patent on? Do we have any programming language that is purely indigenous?
