Delhi govt is a miser
by rohan varshnei on Oct 19, 2007 11:47 AM

The Delhi govt can easily sanction 2000 buses at a cost of Rs 15,00,000 each which works out to be 300 crores. These buses are more modern and comfortable than current buses. It can easily raise this amount through long term loans at low interest rates available for govt and public sector entities. If Delhi is spending a 100 times more than that before the commonwealth games, this would be a small compromise. Get rid of the Bluelines. Follow the example of BEST which is the best run transport PSU in the country which plies on time, is safe and doesnt have people hanging out of doors, windows and roofs.
