Dear Arjun Periyar, I am atheist and know all religions are hoaxes. The gods are inventions of the priestly class to earn their livlihood by befooling the gullible believers. As a part of my quest for knowledge I have read The Bible, The Koran, The Mahabharata, The Ramayana and parts of scriptures of many other religions. To the best of my understanding, the principles (8 fold path and Panchsheel)of Buddhism are more refined than the principles of any other religion. They don't even believe in a supreme creator also!
I have read English translation of The Koran available at www.gutenberg.org This is an unbiased translation (probably translated more than a hundred years ago) and easy to understand.
I firmly believe that each and every individual has the ability to think for himself what is good for him and good for the society at large. We are not inferior to any Prophet or Saint who lived hundreds or even thousands of years ago.
