And the sad fact is we can do little about it. The days of war are gone, that's not an option. Even if it were communism and dictatorship means they be more decisive and take more losses than us to achieve their objectives. We can't beat them in a war scenario, they are too powerful, even the US won't/can't take them on.
China is consistently aggressive and persistent. Notice there stand on Taiwan. The only hope is democracy in China and a change in their national charactar towards less aggressiveness.
We need international allies and some sort of world pressure on China to tone down their expansionist agenda.
