1969 The AEC approves preparation of a detailed project report for the fast breeder reactor in collaboration with the French Commissariat A L'Energie Atomique. As part of the agreement, a team of 30 Indian nuclear scientists, engineers, and technicians travels to France for work on the "detailed designs of the prototype reactor," which is expected to be completed within the next 12-18 months.
