I see a trend in the messages here: uninformed hatred of Gandhiji. And I imagine this stems from the recent movies on Bhagath Singh. People are made to believe that Gandhiji had never tried to save Bhagath and some people even think of Bhagath Singh was killed because he followed a different path than Gandhiji. We must understand these two heroes of our freedom movement in the right perspective. While both dedicated their lives for the freedom movement, they chose different paths. Though they had chosen radically different routes for freedom, I would like to think that both of them had a great respect each other. Please read this: http://www.kamat.com/mmgandhi/onbhagatsingh.htm In today's world where guns have replaced hymns, it would be appealing for us to think of Gandhiji's vision as irrelevant, it's his core values that are the need of the hour: non-violence and tolerance. If you look at Hinduism as a way of life rather than through the prism of protectionism, you will see where did Gandhiji find the roots of his core values. It's not what we call ourselves but how we live is what makes us a Hindu. Hindutva is not just a religion, it's a way of live. It's core values are so strong that it has space for every one: aethists, brahmic, abrahmic followers.
