The Eelam Tamils are not of Indian origin bt are native to Sri Lanka on fact most of the present day Sinhalas are of recent South Indian origin . Th eancestoer of the present day anti Tamil Bandarnaike clan is a Neela Perumal woh migrated form Tamil Nadu in the 17th century. and the ancestor the Jayawardene/ Ranil Wickremesinghe and Mahinda Rajapakses wife is a Thambi Mudalai from Tamil Nadu who again migrated around the same time . MOst Sinhal aristocrats are of south Indian dTamil orgin as the Sinhal akings always married Pndyan princess . In fact they al l spoke Tamil until the 19th century. The last independent Tamil kingdoms to fall were not in India but in Sri Lanka . The Jaffna kingdom around 1620 and the Vanni(curent LTTE stronhold) only fell to the British aroudn 1820 . it was then the whoole island was made in to one country by the British. The Portuegues and the Duthch ruled the Tamil and Sinhal speaking districts that they captured as two seoerate colonies. They recognised these people were made of two distinct nations and ethnice groups. YO are not a Tamil Eelam Tamil different from South Indina Tamil. It has many Cankam Tamil words. WOrds common to present day Malayalm but gone out of usage in Tamil Nadu and it is far less Sankritsed. The British should have left a Federal country when they left but failed to do so.
