One thing the brainless aam aadmi of this land must be certain of - the Indian Police Service(IPS) was never created to protect and serve the native the masses - they were enlisted as enforcers(govt goons), whose 'job' it was to protect the British Raj and its White Sahib overlords against the restive brown-skinned natives - in sum, the police, who were given wide lattitude, were just govt-mercenaries, who were held in contempt, hated and reviled by all.
And even after 60 years of 'independence', the police still maintains the very same mindeset, except now thier job is to serve and protect Bharati Sarkar and its brown-skinned overlords against the native masses - no love lost. That'd why the police cannot be depended upon to help, assist or protect the amm aaadmi - not now, nor ever, has that been their mission.
