RE:Politicians are all one
by Seeker Of Truth on Oct 05, 2007 02:57 PM

Forget DG and Kumaraswamy, the foul language and lack of respect, tolerance and civility by rediff neitzens is shocking. Can't we express our opinions without malice to others? we get shocked at the way politicians behave both in and ouside the parliament/legislature. Users of IT services like Internet are supposed be to priviliged people in a poor country like India. We must be grateful for the opportunity to interact with total strangers on issues of importance to us without becoming nasty. This is the same thing that happens on the roads of most Indian cities; a total lack of courtesy to other motorists as well as pedestrians and cyclists. Those who own vehicles are a privileged minority who are using the country's precious foreign exchange to buy petroleum. The Internet is the information highway and regardless of what party we belong to, it is necessary not to become abusive as it reflects on our own self. Rediff has a global audience and we must hold a high degree of civic sense to show that we are maturing as a democracy and not becoming a banana republic. Mother India is sacred -- our heroic soldiers are dying everyday so that you and I can live comfortably, should we not show our gratitude by behaving responsibly even if it is to condemn the unethical acts of poloiticians? otherwise we are no better than them. Let the quality of our interactions improve and let us debate without rancour.
