who actually harass dalits?
by reformer on Oct 03, 2007 08:23 PM

First of all, I m not a Brahmin.
Now My question is who generally harras Dalits? 100yrs back, yes mostly those were brahmins but today??
In Andhra, Reddy, In Maharashtra, mostly marathas, In North, Mostly thakurs. Last year, In maharashtra, a dalit family was killed in small villege, khairlanji. Not a single brahmin was involved in that. But u see/listen any of Dalit or all non brahmin leaders, they will attack only on brahmin cast for castism.
In today's scenario,Brahmins don't have political presence much. If u consider, whole India, percentage wise they are lesser in goverment jobs. So how come this cast can influence/dominence on others?

See, in the society, castism exists. The non brahmin leaders take benefit from it if something wrong happens then they always blame Brahmins. About Dalit leaders, its a life long opportunity. Just attack on brahmin cast and control dalit votes and enjoy Kursi/ministership.

and poor dalits, they continue to live in slums and gets cheated/harrassed from some non brahmin dominent cast
