Money for asking questions
by Mansukhlal Shah on Nov 27, 2007 11:57 PM

Most of the legislators and parliamentarians, although not all, get elected to their respective assemblies and the Parliament on the pretext that they are there to serve the masses. What humbug! They are there to get all the perks they have voted for themselves plus backhanders for asking planted questions and do the bidding of their hidden paymasters. When they are exposed by sting operations they have the temerity to accuse investigating journalists and have them harrassed by pliant police force. Is this the democracy for which Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters risked their all in the service of the nation?: Such politicians and their partners in crime should go through a rapid judicial process and if found guilty locked up for at least 5 years and debarred from fighting any elections for the rest of their lives. Their ill gotten gains should be handed over to the Indian Exchequer to be used for the good of the nation.
