Both Hussain and Taslima deserve protection. Their lives, their houses and their kith and kin should be protected by the state, even if they write anything offensive. I'd say this should hold true for Salman Rushdie as well. You can strongly disagree with what they write, and you can express that disagreement in a civilized way , but no one should be allowed to threaten their lives by issuing fatwas.
